Northeast Ohio Top Accountants

CBIZ Offers clients a wide array of solutions for an exceptional service experience.

More than 5,000 employees in 140 offices throughout the United States have helped make CBIZ one of the top 10 accounting firms in the country. And in Cleveland, CBIZ Accounting, Tax & Advisory Services (CBIZ Cleveland) offers comprehensive business services designed to help companies at every level — from the sole proprietor to the billion-dollar corporation — but its main focus is on middle-market companies with annual revenues between $10 million and $100 million.

“That’s the sweet spot for our client base and where we are most effective in focusing our efforts,” says Dave Sibits, president of financial services at CBIZ.

CBIZ Cleveland’s mission is to provide a practical, proactive approach to business issues, along with an uncommon level of service to its clients. Its continuously expanding list of services includes tax planning and preparation, business development consulting, business valuation, merger and acquisition analysis, information technology consulting, succession and estate planning, cash flow management, personal financial planning and litigation support.

The firm also works with the national independent CPA firm Mayer Hoffman McCann PC to provide many of its clients’ accounting, tax and advisory services.

“With MHM, we provide a nice relationship with our Big Four brethren,” Sibits says.

CBIZ is currently expanding its annuity work and presence in the tax area. And with its expansion of services comes the need for more qualified, talented members of staff. The firm has been adding employees to its international, research and experimentation and state and local tax divisions. Currently, the firm employs 182 degreed professionals in the accounting and tax group in Northeast Ohio.

“The market has a demand for them, and we’ve been able to secure many extremely talented individuals,” Sibits says. “We are aggressively looking to grow, and we’re interested in acquiring talent. We need that talent to help our clients grow as well.”

In fact, CBIZ is experiencing quite a growth spurt. The firm reported revenues in 2007 of $643.9 million, an increase of 9.7 percent over the $587.2 million for 2006. Despite exponential growth, CBIZ has stayed true to its promise to be a trusted adviser by creating and maintaining relationships with its clients.

“While we have that nationwide breadth, we really need that trust from our clients to be successful,” Sibits says. “We’re very excited about where we are headed. We’ve come a long way and we plan to continue our growth.”
