Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), a renewable, environmental, and thermal energy technologies and services provider, has announced that its B&W Renewable segment has earned contracts worth $20 million+ by the SRE (Summit Ridge Energy) to offer EPC (engineering, procurement, & construction) services to seven solar community projects in Illinois.
At completion, these seven photovoltaic solar farms will provide approximately 20 megawatts of power to homes and businesses in Northern and Central Illinois.
Commenting on the move, Jimmy Morgan, B&W Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, stated that the demand for solar energy is on the rise in the United States as utilities and communities are constantly looking forward to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and offering clean, sustainable energy to residents.
B&W, holding a solid depth of expertise and experience, is well-established in offering the world’s best solar installation services to the customers of the U.S. for both utility and community-scale solar projects.
The firm has expressed excitement about collaborating with SRE, the leading manufacturer of renewable energy equipment in the U.S., to deliver consistent, zero-emission power to customers.
Steve Raeder, Summit Ridge Energy Chief Executive Officer, stated that the move to continue the legacy of making Illinois a leading clean energy market and collaborating with B&W is a matter of great joy for the firm.
Americans are looking for resilient, reliable, and clean energy across the country to power their lives. This makes it essential for the industry to continue responding to this demand and look forward to finding new ways to ensure that all Americans can participate in the energy transition.
Credible sources suggest that the engineering for the projects is currently in progress, and their completion is scheduled for Q1 2023.
For the uninitiated, B&W is a leader in industrial, commercial, and utility solar installations and is devoted to offering cutting-edge solutions, quality construction, and outstanding services, keeping safety a top priority.
A demonstration of B&W’s expertise can be seen in system design & construction reliability, verified solar production, and system integration optimization.
