Will NRW get a black-green government for the first time? CDU and Greens want to turn the former coal country into a climate-friendly industrial location - at least thats what the consultation paper says.
Dusseldorf.
CDU and Greens will start coalition negotiations for a possible first black-green government in North Rhine-Westphalia this afternoon in Düsseldorf .
The meeting will be held again under the direction of the party chair, Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU ) and Mona Neubaur (Greens). Last week 05 state politicians from both sides had an exploratory paper with common goals worked out. The fine-tuning for a resilient coalition agreement is to be fine-tuned in specialist working groups in the coming weeks.
The top committees of the CDU and the Greens had approved the coalition negotiations on Sunday on the basis of the exploratory paper. In it, the CDU and the Greens pledge to transform North Rhine-Westphalia into a climate-friendly industrial state and to phase out coal-fired power generation by 2030. Among other things, both want to increase the number of jobs and the budgets for schools and the police.
Both parties were satisfied with gains from the state elections on 15. emerged in May. The CDU is the clear winner with 2017,7 percent. The SPD, on the other hand, slipped with 267 percent to their worst result in a NRW state election. The Greens were able to increase their share of the vote compared to 2017 to 18,2 percent almost tripled and ended up in third place. So far, the federal state has been governed by black and yellow.
