Cloud-based travel technology company, Spotnana has recently raised USD 75 million in a financing round headed by Durable Capital Partners, with participation from current investors ICONIQ Growth, Madrona Venture Group, Blank Ventures, and Mubadala Capital.
According to Spotnana, the Series B funding will assist them in hiring and fostering its Travel-as-a-Service Platform, which offers cloud-based technology to organizations, suppliers, travel management companies, and technology providers.
In the last two years, Spotnana has successfully raised around USD 100 million, and its employee count has almost doubled since 2021 to around 200 people.
The company was established by Sarosh Waghmar (CEO), who holds more than two decades of experience in the Travel industry, and Shikhar Agrawal, its CTO and previously an establishing engineer at ThoughtSpot, an analytics platform.
According to Mr. Waghmar, the infrastructure which has been in place for decades places some extreme challenges between suppliers and travelers. The firm offers an open platform that empowers the overall travel ecosystem in working together to deliver unmatched travel experiences, similar to how Amazon has democratized approach to computing resources in the cloud.
Mr. Agrawal said that Spotnana is at present building something extremely new to the travel industry. Their firm has gathered engineers from Google, Microsoft, and other technology leaders to build a new high-performance infrastructure for travel.
Managing Director at Madrona Venture Group and executive chairman at Spotnana, Steve Singh said that the firm is fastening the innovation right through the travel industry by empowering everyone to benefit from the power of microservices, cloud computing, an open platform, and open APIs.
