Tesco issues recall popular chocolate bar amid surging health risks

British multinational groceries and general merchandise retailer, Tesco PLC, are reportedly calling back the Oat Milk Bars supplied by Happi Free Form, as it contains traces of milk that were not mentioned in the product’s ingredient description.

Undeclared milk is an issue of urgent concern as the product may prove detrimental to the health of consumers suffering from any kind of intolerance or allergy to milk or milk substitutes.

Notably, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued a statement claiming that it had initiated a recall of the product, on grounds of the aforementioned risk factors.

On the other hand, the supermarket mogul claimed that it would be removing the products from its shelves immediately. Reiterating the same, the company also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

For those unaware, a point-of-sale notice is a notice that is issued by any store, wherein details as to why a particular product is being recalled. In addition, the notice also entails a brief rundown of the steps to be taken by any consumer who is either in possession of the product or has consumed it at any point in time.

It is worth noting that food recalls usually occur when the allergy information is either missing or mislabeled which can be harmful to consumers suffering from any kind of intolerance to any component of food.

Tesco, on its part, issued a warning signal to its customers not to consume the product. Furthermore, the company advised them to immediately return the product to the nearest Tesco store for a refund if they suffer from an allergy to milk or milk constituents.

The product, which is in 80g pack sizes, with an expiry date of October 2023, can apparently be returned to the store for a refund, even without a receipt.
